About Us

Central Queensland Cataract Centre offers state-of-the-art ophthalmology services right here in Central Queensland.

We have one simple goal: to help our patients achieve optimum vision by providing expert knowledge, surgery and care at an affordable price. The advantages are clear to see.

Our cataract surgeon, Dr David Kitchen, is Central Queensland’s only local full-time resident ophthalmologist.

As a double fellowship specialist with both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, and having performed more than 40,000 cataract surgeries approaching three decades as a senior consultant eye specialist, Dr Kitchen is among the most experienced and qualified ophthalmologists in Australia as regards cataract surgery.

With a special interest in cataract and intraocular refractive surgery, glaucoma, oculoplastic procedures, pterygium and medical retina, Dr Kitchen has been providing ophthalmology services in the region since 1996.
